Mike graduated BSc in Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics from Heriot Watt University in 1991. He qualified as an Actuary while working at Scottish Provident and was later Head of Quantitative Research at AEGON Asset Management. In 2000, Mike joined Baillie Gifford as Head of Investment Risk with responsibility for assessing and reporting on portfolio risk across the firm, as well as developing our views on expected long-term returns from different asset classes. He moved to the Diversified Growth Team in 2007, where he is an Investment Manager.
